Social Media tips

Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of sharing some of my favorite tips for social media on our Lodestone virtual meeting call. I love sharing tips that I find to make my life easier so I thought I’d share a couple here.

If you tweet, try hootsuite.com. It’s a free site that allows you, among other things, to schedule out your tweets. Consistency is one of the most important things in social media.

Another favorite of mine is the Twitter application within Facebook. This application can be found just by doing a search on Facebook. Once installed, it allows you to tweet from your facebook page AND whatever you tweet from anywhere shows up on your Facebook page as a status update!

Each month, our Lodestone members have the opportunity to be a part of these calls – a different topic explored each time based on what our membership needs. This is a free, exclusive opportunity for Premium and Associate members. If you are a healing arts practitioner and are looking to connect with others and receive support with your business, check out our website at www.lodestonedynamics.com! Special pricing is available through June 2009.

May your days be filled with joy, love, abundance and success!

Message From The Universe

This was my message from the Universe today thanks to www.tut.com.  Thank you, Julie Geigle, for sharing this site with me.  It was really nice to get such an encouraging message in my inbox today.  I think this is a great tool to share with your friends and clients.

My wish for you, Michele, is that you succeed beyond your wildest imagination. That you find love in places that astound you. And that you have friends who call you “just because.” I dream that you go barefoot more than you wear shoes. That you play as hard as you work. And that you laugh more than you cry. I want you to set the bar high, but not too high. To reach for the stars, but with your toes on the ground. And to never, ever stop dreaming. But most of all, Michele, I wish for your happiness.

The Best Part of the Smoothie

smoothie_pomamangoI love smoothies.  My favorite are Pom-a-mango smoothies with whipped cream from Caribou.  They have to have whipped cream.  I don’t get them often but when I do…all I can say is yum.  I love the pink color with the cloud of fluffy whipped cream on top.  I love the fruity taste.  I savor every sip.

My favorite part is the last inch or two in the cup.  This is the point where I realize most of the whip cream is left…about the same amount as there is smoothie.  I mix them together and my cup becomes a swirl of pink and white.    Not only is it pretty but its got this incredible creamy flavor that I LOVE.

This process made me stop and think about other things in my life.  Do I fully enjoy every bit of the process?  Do I take time to savor the results of working hard on something?  The truth is, not always.  Often I just find myself moving on the next project, the next thing on my list, etc.  I certainly know the value of “the climb” as Hannah Montana would say.  I just get wrapped up in life and forget.

The smoothie reminds me to enjoy the process and really savor all of it including the end.

The 4 C’s of Healing

Sounds kind of strange doesn’t it?  Could it really be that simple?  I think so.  The four C’s are :  Consistently delivering Compassion to Collaborately bring about Change

For someone to truly heal, they need to feel safe with you.  One way to accomplish this is to provide a consistent experience each time they come in.  This allows them to move right into healing mode rather than having to get familiar with their surroundings all over again.

Compassion.  It is about having compassion for ourselves as healers.  It’s about having compassion for those we work with.  I mention ourselves first because we cannot give something we don’t have and it begins here.  You must have compassion for yourself.  Know that you are doing the best you can and coming from the right place.  Know that you are not the one providing the healing and can only facilitate what someone else is ready to receive.   And then begin…

Once you have compassion for yourself, you can begin to have it for others.  Look at everything you do from their perspective.  What is their experience like?  What would make it better?  What are all the ways you can show them how much you care?

Collaboration means to work with another to achieve something.  This relates to what I mentioned above.  We cannot heal someone.  Each individual is responsible for their own healing.  We, as healers, are just the conduit for it to occur.  It is important that someone be invested in their own healing to truly heal.  You need to work as a team.

And finally, Change.  I think this one goes without saying.  People see a healer because something isn’t right in their life.  They want something to be different.  By consistently delivering compassion and by collaborating with your client, you can support them in bringing about the change they desire.

If you are a practitioner, I invite you today to take a look at your experience from your client’s perspective and see what they see.  Find something simple to change that will make a big difference.

If you are someone in need of healing (as most of us are), I invite you to decide what you are willing to invest (emotionally, physically, mentally, financially) in your own healing.  Being an responsible participant in your own care will speed the rate of your healing and save you in the long run.

It’s time to live the life you desire – each and everyone one of you!  Let’s all work together to create a world full of healing, full of joy, full of laughter.  Go out today and make a difference.

The Lake and this Beautiful Day

The wind is strong today.  There is much movement on the lake.  Beautiful blue ripples moving swiftly across the top.  I know deep down there is a sense of calmness for all who live here.

The loons must be back but I don’t see them.  They are some place safe enjoying the sunny day no doubt.  The beavers have their dam still in placenear the spot I saw the cool turtles last year just hanging out on a log.

The evergreen trees blow wildly in the wind, full of green, inviting all the other trees to join them.  Some of the trees still have fall leaves, resistant to letting go of what no longer serves them.  I am thankful that the wind is here to support them as they take that last step, allowing the newness of spring to step in.

The sun is shining brightly in the blue sky, speckled here and there with fluffy white clouds.  A big change from last night’s indigo sky speckled with the glittering of stars.  Both equally brilliant.

It’s different here than in the cities.  No city lights to distract from the amazing aspects of nature.  Sometimes I want to stay here forever.  Never thought I’d say that but I’m in a different place now.  The solitude calms me.  The silence is peaceful.  The alone-time…much needed.  It brings tears to my eyes now.

Just a while longer, please, I ask.  Allow the sense of being safe, of being exactly where I am supposed to be, of being cared for by the Universe fill me to the top and out in every direction before I make my journey back to the “real” world.

Or is this the “real” world??  I think it just might be.   I now look forward to returning home, bringing the “real” world with me.   Enjoying all aspects of my life and realizing that I can be in the “real” world any time I choose.
